Christmas of 2025 saw me receive a corny keg, a fermenter, and a MoreBeer Flash brewing kit from my wife – the Irish Red Ale. Once I had fermented the beer, moved it to the keg, and carbonated it, I realized the satisfaction of pouring a beer that I had made. At that point I was hooked. I quickly acquired three more corny kegs and four more Flash kits; the German Hefeweizen, the Cali Mountain Pale Ale, the Irish Stout, and the Hop Prophecy Double IPA. Thanks to my wife giving me a 6-tap kegerator last year, I had the space for them all.

More recently, my wife bought 3 more Flash kits of things she wanted to try; the Citra Session Pale Ale and a few of the Hard Seltzers. I also bought another Irish Red kit and another Hop Prophecy kit. These will be my last Flash kits. About a month ago, I decided that I wanted to eventually brew all-grain but would brew a few extract kits first. With that in mind, I purchased the 9.1 gallon 120v Brewzilla Gen 4.1. Even more recently I went ahead and purchased a 17 gallon SS Brewtech Chronical 2.0 fermenter. It should arrive any day now. My thinking on the 17 gallon is that I want to move to 10 gallon batches eventually so that I can fill two kegs a batch. One for home and one for our weekend property.

Currently, I am in possession of five Flash kits, one extract kit, and two all-grain kits. Once the Chroncial arrives, I will have 3 fermenters. Seems like I need to get to brewing!

I have been interested in brewing beer for a long time.
